Four members of the Parker Police Department were sent to the hospital after they came in contact with meth and cocaine on Tuesday.

Police responded to a call for a suspicious substance at Parker Adventist Hospital just before 9:30 a.m.

After taking it back to the the department, initial tests indicated the drug was fentanyl. Police say the two officers and two evidence staff members who were testing it were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

New test results from hazmat and South Metro Fire Rescue later showed the substance was actually a combination of cocaine and meth.

"It is very scary," Sherry Corcoran with the Parker Police Department said. "We do train for things like this. It's something that we know we may come in contact with so we definitely train for it and we're definitely prepared."

Police say all four people have been treated and released and will be given some time off.
