Construction is underway on a new school in Broomfield that will cost an estimated $31 million to $36.5 million and is slated for completion in August 2018.

The 142,000-square-foot school, called Anthem P-8, will house grades preschool through 8th and will be part of the planned Anthem Highlands community near Highway 7 and Interstate 25. Upon completion, that community will include 2,600 residential units.

It will be part of the Adams 12 Five Star Schools district.

"Adding a new school in Anthem Highlands is a critical need not only for this growing community but also for our surrounding elementary and middle schools that have been impacted by the growth of this area," said Chris Gdowski, Five Star Schools superintendent.
