The Colorado Department of Transportation is hoping emojis will help them prevent teen driving deaths.

CDOT is launching an interactive campaign on Snapchat that will target teens during the time of day when they’re most likely to drive, reminding them to buckle up.

Themed Snapchat geofilters will be distributed to 20 high schools in the counties with the highest teen fatalities.

Sixteen teens who died in car crashes in 2015 weren’t wearing seat belts – and it’s a number CDOT says it wants to change.
