Officers have taken a suspect into custody who was involved in a shootout with police in Colorado Springs Friday afternoon.

31-year-old Neal Joseph Arceneaux fled police after they were called to the area of Vickers and N. Union Boulevard by someone complaining of a disturbance with a gun, according to law enforcement. He exchanged gunfire with officers around 3:40 p.m. - none of the officers were injured.

Police learned during their investigation after the shooting that they were dealing with Arceneaux, a 6-foot-6, 205-pound man.

Officers searched for nearly a day, shutting down a large perimeter area from Downhill and Tuckerman to Vickers and Union. Those living in the area were told to shelter-in-place and anyone outside the perimeter wasn't allowed to go inside.

Arceneaux was wanted on several felony warrants.
