FORT COLLINS — No one was injured after a crane tipped over onto a building near Colorado State University’s veterinary teaching hospital.
There are no major structural issues due to the apparent accident, said Dustin Liljehorn, the vice president of operations for JE Dunn Construction – the general contractor on the project. The crane belonged to a trade partner, he said.
The building involved is the $65 million C. Wayne McIlwraith Translation Medicine Institute off West Drake Road. The fallen crane did cause minor damage to the structure, Liljehorn said.
The crane tipped over at around 8 a.m. What caused it to happen in the first place is under investigation.
The building was evacuated due to the incident and ensuing investigation.
