It was a wild scene at Red Rocks Amphitheatre Thursday night.
A driver accused of hitting two people during the Pink Martini with the Colorado Symphony with Rufus Wainwright concert ended up needing some help of his own.
The crash happened in the Red Rocks Amphitheatre parking lot about 9:50 p.m. Police identified the driver as 47-year-old Andrew Parkins.
Police said Parkins hit about six cars and two women who suffered minor injuries.
After the crash, he kept driving and “struck city property causing his vehicle to go over the mountainside,” according to a Denver Police probable cause statement obtained by 9NEWS.
Police said Parkins got out of his car and ran down a ravine. A search dog was brought in to help locate Parkins.
West Metro Fire was called in for a rescue at 11:18 p.m. They found Parkins at the bottom of the ravine. Firefighters had to use a system of ropes to get Parkins out.
Parkins was taken to St. Anthony Hospital and has since been released. He was cited by Denver Police for careless driving resulting in injury and leaving the scene of an accident.
