A small family is living inside garden center of a Lowes store in Colorado Springs.

Our NBC affiliate KOAA visited the store on North Nevada Avenue where a family of owls is nesting inside a pallet at the very top of a shelving unit. Employees have marked the pallet with a warning, "Don't touch the owl!!"

There are several chicks in the nest with an adult watching over them in the nearby rafters.

Owl chicks normally don't attempt to venture out of the nest on foot until they are more than a month old; attempts at flight start around 45 days old.

A chick's head is barely visible above the pallet.
