Chris Tucker is well aware of what veterans have sacrificed for our country.

“I’m so thankful for the veterans that have tried to keep this country together and who have gone to war, and many of them haven’t come home, and I owe them something,” he said.

And since 9/11, he and his friends have stood on the same Denver Tech Center overpass on every patriotic holiday to honor those who have given so much.

He stood on the Union Bridge Friday morning for Veterans Day, waving flags as drivers honked their horns in appreciation.

Tucker says veterans will come to the bridge to tell stories about their service, and to thank him for the gesture.

“I love it because we get all the people honking and people driving up and telling stories about when they were in the service, and how they love what they’re doing,” he said.

He will be out waving flags for the rest of Friday morning.
