Littleton house fire spreads to multiple homes

A house fire in Littleton sent smoke into the air.

KUSA — KUSA – Sky9 video showed heavy smoke and flames from a house fire in Littleton Friday afternoon that may have grown to involve three homes.

The fire started at a home in the 7900 block of South Bemis Circle, Littleton Fire dispatch confirmed.

The neighborhood is near Writer’s Vista Park and McClellan Reservoir.

Littleton Fire tweeted that two firefighters were taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion for battling so many fires back-to-back, but that they are expected to be ok.

The first two fires occurred at 7951 and 7961 South Bemis Ct., according to Littleton Fire.

The blaze caused major damage to the two homes, as well as a free-flowing natural gas meter. No injuries were reported.

A third fire was reported at 7979 South Bemis Street, according to Littleton Fire. The blaze was reported on the roof of a home, and it's unclear if this is related to the first two fires.

What caused the fires remains under investigation.
