A newly-opened park in Frisco honors the memory of a Flight for Life helicopter pilot killed in a crash in Frisco.

In July 2015, the chopper crashed at the Saint Anthony Summit Medical Center -- killing Patrick Mahany and seriously injuring 2 crew members on board.

The new park opened Saturday following a dedication ceremony last July on the anniversary of the crash.

Mahany's name now also appears on a plaque on Fallen Heroes Highway along Highway 91 between Leadville and Copper Mountain.
