Governor Hickenlooper ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff on Thursday to honor the school shooting victims in Florida. They’ll stay that way through Monday.

If you're wondering, this is the sixth time the flags have been lowered to half staff in Colorado. Before this shooting, they were lowered to honor El Paso County Deputy Micah Flick, Adams County Deputy Heath Gumm, U.S. Special Forces soldier Mihail Golin who was killed in Afghanistan, and twice for Douglas County Deputy Zack Parrish.

Compared to last year – the first time flags were lowered in 2017 was February 21st, when former Lieutenant Governor Mark Hogan died.

So, by this time last year, flags had not been lowered at all.
