Kyle Jones and the man, the myth, the legend Alex Trebek.

KUSA — He might be a music teacher, but during a four-day streak on Jeopardy, Aurora Central High School’s Kyle Jones has shown that he’s really good at all kinds of trivia.

Jones competed on Jeopardy over summer vacation, but his episodes are just now airing. As of Tuesday, he’s on a four-day streak … and since he can’t talk about the end result, the Aurora Public Schools community has been watching to see just how far he’ll go in the legendary game show.

“Every day is fun,” said Corey Christiansen, the spokesperson for Aurora Public Schools. “You find out if he continues or not.”

Christiansen said this is Jones’ first year at Aurora Central, and before that he taught at Aurora Hills Middle School. He moved to Colorado from Phoenix back in elementary school.

His mom was a big Jeopardy fan, according to Christiansen, so Jones has wanted to compete on the show since he was kid.

Now that he’s gotten his chance, Jones is making waves. According to a website that tracks Jeopardy statistics (yes … that’s a thing), Jones has gotten 91 questions right and just seven wrong during his streak.

He’s 38.29 percent on the buzzer (again … this is something that’s actually tracked) and is 5/6 on Daily Doubles … something that’s earned him $7,000! He’s projected to win again and get a five-day streak, since that’s something that’s also tracked, so let’s hope the Jeopardy data is correct.

According to Christiansen, Jones wants to use his earnings to pay off his student loans and also give back to his kids and his school. What a guy!

Good luck, Kyle! We’ll be rooting for you.
