PREVIOUS STORY: The Mesa County Sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help in finding an endangered 17-year-old girl who ran away on Wednesday.

Ciara Bugay, 17, was reported as a runaway on Wednesday night when she failed to return to her home in Fruita.

Bugay is a type 1 diabetic who receives insulin every day. Her family believes she has enough to last her through Saturday night, the sheriff’s office said.

Family members have been able to get in touch with Bugay through social media, but say she hasn’t returned home.

She was last seen wearing jeans, tall brown boots, a red shirt and had a tan and ivory colored backpack.

Bugay is originally from Craig, but also ties to Parker, the sheriff’s office said.
