Community members gathered on Sunday afternoon to remember the two men killed in a Firestone home explosion earlier this month.
Dozens released balloons at Settlers Park in honor of Mark Martinez and Joey Irwin.
The brothers-in-law were found dead in the basement of the home on Twilight Avenue on April 17.
"Everybody is feeling their pain and we just thought that it would be good to just bring the community together," organizer Cindy Abkes said.
The cause is still under investigation, but in the meantime thousands of wells have been shut down as a precaution.
One of those wells is located about 200 feet from the home.
Fire officials confirmed that a new water heater had recently been installed in the home, and an acquaintance of Irwin’s said that he’d been called there because there was a problem with it. He was a certified master plumber.
Last week, investigators from the Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District told 9NEWS they are “confident” about the cause, but will hold off on releasing it until they are 100 percent certain.
