Seven properties, multiple vehicles burned near Grand Junction after fire

The American Red Cross is currently assisting seven displaced adults

A 10-acre brush fire that burned in unincorporated Mesa County on Monday evening destroyed a double-wide mobile home as well as several outbuildings and vehicles, fire officials said.

The Rosevale fire sparked around 7 p.m. on Monday and scorched seven properties. Multiple families lived in the mobile home that was burned.

The American Red Cross is currently assisting seven displaced adults. The fire was fully contained by midnight on Tuesday.

More than 350 homes in the southwest part of Grand Junction were evacuated because of the fast-moving brush fire. No injuries were reported.

The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation. Anyone with information, video or photographs related to the start of the fire is asked to contact the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office at Fireinfo@MesaCounty.us or call us at (970) 244-3919.

Much of the western slope is under a red flag warning due to windy conditions.
