A woman has died after being hit by a car in Colorado Springs Saturday afternoon.
Colorado Springs Police say the woman was riding a bicycle at the the intersection of Woodmen and Marksheffel Roads when she was hit.
The woman's husband was riding his bike with her but was uninjured, 9NEWS sister station KOAA reports.
Crews from Falcon Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to find the victim lying down in the road, KOAA said.
It’s unclear at this time what led up to the crash, but the driver who hit the cyclist was released.
Colorado Springs Police Department's Major Accident Unit is investigating the accident.
KOAA says to expect major delays and avoid the area if possible.
