The Colorado Air National Guard says people living in Denver's eastern suburbs should expect more noise this weekend while training exercises take place.

The drills will run between Thursday, March 1 and Sunday, March 4 with aircraft takeoffs occurring as late as 10 p.m.

Men and women in the 140th Wing Colorado Air National Guard will be training to maintain proficiency in their F-16 flying mission.

"As an Air National Guard unit, we have a limited number of days to train our traditional, part-time members," says U.S. Air Force Col. Brian Turner, commander, 140th Wing, in a news release. "This four-day training period is one of the most important training opportunities for our personnel this year, requiring us to fly later than normal."

"The community's patience and understanding are greatly appreciated as the 140th Wing works hard to perfect the mission-essential functions necessary to protect national security."
