Northwest Florida is attracting more direct flights from Denver International Airport.

Pensacola travel officials Monday touted two Denver flights to their city: summer service between DIA and Pensacola on Southwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines' Pensacola flights from DIA that begin on April 22.

Frontier announced the DIA-Pensacola flights as in July as part of an ambitious flight expansion program out of DIA.

Officials at northwest Florida's Visit Pensacola were excited about the two airlines' DIA flights.

“These announcements come as a direct result of our area's success.These flights will bring new opportunities to potential visitors and we couldn’t be more excited," said Steve Hayes, president of Visit Pensacola, said in a statement.
