For nearly 18 years, 9NEWS has honored leaders in our community who have made significant contributions to the well-being and development of our state through our 9NEWS Leader of the Year award.

This year's winner is Joshua Hunt.

Hunt has created a successful business while giving back to the community.

This year's winner is Joshua Hunt. He's the CEO and founder of Trelora Real Estate.

He's the CEO and founder of Trelora Real Estate.

In his off time, he's a mentor at Big Brothers Big Sisters, on the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity Metro Denver and helps create housing for those who are less fortunate.

After Hunt won, he said he hopes he can inspire others with this award.

"My commitment is to drive impact and change and to drive collaboration," Hunt said. "I want to make sure that people know they matter and that they can make a difference. And so I will continue on to that. This is a cool opportunity to make it be heard a little louder and push that into people's lives and give them hope that they too can make a difference."

Hunt was one of three finalists.
