More than one third of Colorado’s registered voters aren’t members of either major party. In fact, unaffiliated voters are technically the largest group of voters in the state.
Supporters of the proposition have said the measure makes Colorado’s primary process more fair and forces parties and candidates to appeal to the majority of voters in the state.
