Icelandair is adding two more flights per week from Denver International Airport to Reykjavik, Iceland, next summer, becoming the first carrier to operate more than one nonstop flight per day from the Mile High City to a transatlantic destination.
Icelandair already flies daily between Denver and Iceland’s capital. The new schedule will add a second flight that departs from Denver each Tuesday and Friday.
The Tuesday flights will begin on June 1 and continue through Sept. 14, while the second Friday departures will span from June 12 to Sept. 4.
Icelandair began the nonstop flights between the cities in May 2012 with four flights per week, and more than 60 passengers per day now travel between the destinations.
