Talks about adding two stops to the B Line rail route between Denver Union Station and Westminster are still underway, so the stations won't open by the hoped-for date of May 21, the Regional Transportation District said Tuesday.
May 21 is when RTD implements a host of changes to its rail and bus system schedules. But when the new schedules were announced Monday, the B Line’s proposed new stops — at the 41st and Fox Station and the new Pecos Junction Station — were not on the list.
The two stops were originally envisioned to be part of the G Line route to Wheat Ridge and Arvada, which has not yet opened. The G and B lines use the same tracks on that section of their routes. Trains on the B Line currently pass through the two stations but don’t stop.
The Federal Railroad Administration ordered testing on the G Line to be halted last fall until problems with timing of gates on RTD's A Line to Denver International Airport are resolved; the gate technology is similar on both the A and G lines.
