A North Carolina woman who wanted to make a point to her husband about how lottery tickets are not a good investment ended up winning $1 million instead.
It happened when her husband asked her to bring home two Powerball tickets over the weekend. Glenda Blackwell said she was fed up, so she bought herself a $10 scratch-off ticket – and ended up winning big.
She opted to take the $415,000 lump sum after taxes, and says she plans to use it to buy a house and set up a college fund for her two daughters.
