Four West Metro firefighters and an engine are headed for California Wednesday morning.
The crew will be helping fight the devastating brush fires burning in the southern part of the state.
SKY9 was overhead when the crew took off just after 7 a.m. Wednesday.
The strong winds that have helped the fires spread in Southern California have also made it hard for water-dropping planes and helicopters to fly.
Three fires forced evacuation orders for 200,000 people and destroyed nearly 200 homes.
The most destructive fire is in Ventura County just northwest of Los Angeles.
Wednesday morning another fire broke out near LA's Getty Center.
