A former Denver Nugget is heading to the Hall of Fame.

He may not be known for his days in Denver, but George McGinnis did play in the Mile High City from 1978-1980.

The Indiana star was selected to the prestigious class of basketball greats Saturday.

McGinnis is most known for playing ball in Indiana. He was an All-American at the University of Indiana, and spent most of his best days in the ABA and NBA with the Indiana Pacers.

He was a six-time All-Star in both the ABA and NBA.

McGinnis is perhaps best known in Denver for helping bring one of the best players in franchise history to the Nuggets.

Denver traded McGinnis back to the Pacers in 1980 in exchange for Alex English--who went on to become the leading scorer in team history.
