DENVER -- Second round of 4A soccer, theno. 6 seeded Denver West Cowboys made a statement Tuesday night with a healthy 5-0 win against the No. 22 seeded Ponderosa Mustangs.

West only has one loss this season coming midway into the season vs the 5A No. 1 undefeated Denver East Angels.

The talented Cowboys team got forced offensive pressure early, keeping the Mustangs on their heels and slowly pushing them back towards their own goal.

West's goals would come off of both space and open shots in the slot and crosses that connected with unmarked forwards.

The Cowboy's leading scorer Cristian Catalan would lead off the scoring early in the first followed by a few of his teammates. Senior Jonvay Casas netted two goals in the game to extend their lead.

Denver West will play the Classical Academy in the next round.
