Seeded No. 3 in the 5A football playoff bracket, the Columbine Rebels ran down the No. 6 seeded Regis Jesuit Raiders in the quarterfinals on Friday night during our 9Preps Game of the Week.
In a rainy showing at Jefferson County Stadium, both teams relied heavily on running the ball, but the only team to get traction after four quarters was the Rebels.
In the first half, the Raiders took to the air for their first score of the game to tie it 7-7. After a late second half field goal, Regis led Columbine 10-7; however, they still weren't able to establish a consistent run-game.
Running back's Tanner Hollen and Conner Snow both broke big runs for the Rebels throughout the game to help give them the lead in the second half.
The pair was led by a strong offensive line that created holes for the tenacious back's eventually leading to big gains and more scores.
Despite a late touchdown from the Raiders, Columbine emerged victorious 28-18 to advance and play the winner of Cherry Creek versus Eaglecrest in the Semifinals.
