HIGHLANDS RANCH -- The No. 1 Rock Canyon Jaguars volleyball and the No. 4 ranked Mountain Vista Golden Eagles rivalry always brings a competitive game.

On Tuesday night, the two teams took to the court again after ending 3-2 Rock Canyon in last seasons showdown between the two.

This game contained the same competitive spirit and play as both teams traded points and sets back and forth.

The Golden Eagles would take the first set 25-15 over the Jaguars; however, the Jags would call right back with a 25-21 second set win.

In the third Vista's Alyssa Oswald continued to hammer the ball for kill after kill for her team, Rock Canyon trying to defend and fire back with their leading scorer, Keeley Davis.

Vista would hold on and take the third set 26-24 to take a 2-1 set lead and a huge head start on a win against the first ranked team in 5A volleyball.

The Jaguars maintaining poise on the court, senior Harley Freeseman stood up and made plays when the Jags needed, but helped for a 5th set after a 25-20 set win.

Freeseman and the Jaguars worked as a team and remained positive/focused to pull off a 5th set win and an overall 3-2 match win.

Rock Canyon faces a tough Highlands Ranch team Thursday before finishing their regular season.
