There's nothing better than rivalry night, except when you take the showdown and multiply that by two.

Up north Tuesday night, there was a double header in basketball between Fort Collins and Fossil Ridge High School.

The girls kicked off the action first, as the No. 10 ranked Sabercats defended their home court with an impressive 46-22 victory over the Lambkins.

The atmosphere was electric at Fossil Ridge High School all night, as the home team controlled every quarter on the way to its 14th win this season.

The Sabercats (14-4) have still yet to lose at home to an in-state opponent this season.

Fossil Ridge showed off its depth all night, but Lauren Zwetzig and Katey Guzman were fantastic in particular early on to help the Cats take a 29-12 lead into the locker room at halftime.

From there, Fossil Ridge stayed ahead in front of a raucous crowd, divided equally between the two rival schools.

The loss was just Fort Collins' second of the whole year, as the Lambkins fell to 14-2 overall after the defeat.

Fossil Ridge bumps its record to 14-4 and 7-1 in league play with the win.
