The Regis Jesuit girls' basketball team is heading back to the state championship for the first time since 2014.

With a 47-34 victory over No. 2 seed Lakewood in the Final Four, the No. 6 seeded Raiders set up a matchup with defending champion Grandview in the 5A title game Saturday night.

Regis took a 6 point lead into halftime, and then pulled away with an especially impressive third quarter in which the Raiders outscored the Tigers 16-9.

In fact, Regis Jesuit outscored Lakewood in every quarter except the fourth, where the two teams finished with 12 a piece.

Junior Francesca Belibi led the way with a game-high 14 points, while sophomore Jada Moore, senior Noelle Cahill and freshman Avery Vansickle also turned in great performances to keep their school in control the whole night.

Jessica Woodhead was a bright spot for Lakewood, turning in a team-high 12 points for the Tigers, who finished the season 23-4 overall.

Regis, meanwhile, has still yet to lose a game against a Colorado opponent all year, as the Raiders' only three losses have come against out-of-state teams.

The win sets up what should be an exciting rematch in the state title game Saturday. Regis squeaked by Grandview 53-51 in the two schools' only meeting this year on December 11.
