Tuesday night in front of its home crowd, Mountain Vista boys' basketball beat Continental League opponent Ponderosa, 86-59.
Senior Garrett Sweeney led the way with 21 points, four other players scored in double figures (Ben Grusing, Rhys Pulling, Luke Boeyink and Connor Staib) and the Golden Eagles improved to 3-1 in conference.
Mountain Vista stretched a 3-point lead after one quarter all the way to 13 at the half by outscoring the visiting Mustangs 24-14 in the second quarter.
The team's 86 points overall were the highest total since the first game of the season, when the Golden Eagles put up 92 in a win over Loveland.
Both schools came into Tuesday night's game 11-4 overall, as the victory gave Vista its fourth straight win.
With the loss, Ponderosa drops to 11-5 and 1-3 in the Continental league.
Up next, the Mustangs look to bounce back on Saturday as they take on Castle View, while Mountain Vista gets set to face the still undefeated and No. 1 ranked Rock Canyon Jaguars.
