Our girls and boys basketball teams have dominated the Prep Rally Honor Roll this winter season, but for the first time in 2018, the top play of the week -- was frozen.
At number five, Evergreen's Hannah Kennedy comes up with a vicious block, and that leads to a fast break and bucket for teammate Kristina Schreiber. This week's number four play came from the No. 4 ranked George Washington Patriots. Senior Jon'il Fugett scored a game-high 29 points, including a sweet put-back basket to lead the Pats to a win over Denver South. Number three this week was a gorgeous fake-out from Mountain Vista's Luke Boeyink, who made a sneaky pass to Eric Kimmel for a layup. The Rock Canyon Jaguars tweeted us this week's number two play. Senior Blake Williams comes up with a great steal and takes it the length of the court, before putting away a one-handed jam.
But this week's top play happens on the ice. Regis Jesuit hockey's William Desmond shows great focus and skill as he slaps the puck mid-air into the back of the net (you'll need to see it in slow-mo to realize just how difficult it was).
We've ranked the top plays, but ultimately it's you, the viewer, who decides who was number one. Vote in the poll you see below. The winner will be announced during the 9NEWS Sunday morning Prep Rally.
Remember, if you get a great play on camera, send it to us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also tweet us @9Preps. You never know... you could see it on our next countdown!
