Valor Christian earned a statement win Friday night, shutting out a visiting Fountain-Fort Carson 45-0 in the regular season finale.

The Eagles put up 584 yards on their opponents, and found the end zone six times to earn the win. Easton Cecil scored twice, and Haydn Simpson, Luke McCaffrey, Jack Walley and Josia Davis each added one.

Fountain-Fort Carson was only down by seven after the first quarter, but was plagued by its own mistakes before half. The Trojans dropped at least two potential interceptions, and coughed up a fumble recovery that would have swung the momentum in their favor.

Coming into this week, the Valor Eagles (7-3) and Fountain-Fort Carson (3-7) were predicted to make the 5A playoffs which will be decided by the new Ratings Percentage Index (RPI). They will each find out their fates next week.
