If Friday night's Final Four boys' basketball games are any preview of what's to come in Saturday's finals, Colorado -- you are in for a treat.

The Denver Coliseum played host to the 4A and 5A boys' basketball Final Four games, with each featuring dazzling plays, nail-biting moments and crazy finishes. Now, we know who will be vying for the elusive state titles come this weekend.

The first 4A match-up was between Lewis-Palmer and Pueblo West. After falling behind in the second half, the Cyclones went on a 10-0 run to pull within a basket. In the end, the Rangers were able to hang on for the 56-54 victory to punch their ticket to the 4A title game.

They would play the winner of the Longmont versus Pueblo South game. The Colts jumped out to an early 7-1 lead, and from the outside, it looked like they were going to run away with it. Longmont had other plans. The Trojans battled back to make it a two point game at the half, and went on a run early in the third and never looked back, outscoring their opponent 49-36 in the second half. Longmont was led by senior Luke Johnson who had a team high 22 points (including six points from beyond the arc), and his team went on to win 71-60 to advance to Saturday.

In the first 5A boys' Final Four, it was ThunderRidge taking on Grandview. Despite a close first quarter, the Grizzlies outscored their opponents 10-4 in the second to take a monster 21-14 lead at the half. Grandview woke up in the second half, twice taking back the lead, including an incredible 12-3 run. Calib McGil led the Wolves with 10 points, and Dayne Prim contributed 9 in their 42-39 victory.

Then came the final game of the night, and it was worth the wait. In a thrilling overtime finish, No. 5 George Washington knocked off No. 1 Rock Canyon 47-41 to advance to the state title for the second consecutive year.

It took a last second free throw from Devon Jones to tie things up and force overtime. From there, Jon'il Fugett took over, getting steals on defense and converting the turnovers into points at the free throw line.

The senior finished with a game-high 16 points to send George Washington back to the Coliseum Saturday night for a matchup with Grandview and a chance at a state championship. The Patriots will look to avenge last year's title game loss against Eaglecrest.
