For the first time in 11 years, the University of Colorado Buffaloes are in the national top 25 rankings in both the AP and Coaches polls.
Their current ranking is 21 and 23 respectively.
Gut-checks against the Michigan Wolverines and Oregon Ducks proved the Buffs are for real.
They’re 4-1 on the season with their only loss coming to Michigan 28-45.
“This is a good football team,” sports writer BG Brooks said. “Anytime that you get into the national rankings after this long a drought it's something special.”
Brooks has covered the Buffs for 26 years—a time period that has brought everything from a national championship to three consecutive losses.
“Anywhere you break in is a good number, 21 is a really good number for this team,” he said.
On Saturday, the Buffaloes will take on the USC Trojans, a team they are 0-10 against all-time.
