KUSA - Fast? You bet, Isaiah McKenzie is fast.

He just became the fastest among the Denver Broncos rookie draft picks to sign his first pro contract when he and the team reached accord on a four-year deal worth $2.636 million.

The deal includes a signing bonus of about $236,000.

McKenzie is a returner/receiver – probably in that order – from Georgia. He was selected by the Broncos with the No. 172 overall draft pick in the fifth round.

The 5-foot-7, 173-pound McKenzie scored five touchdowns off punt returns in his three seasons at Georgia, plus one more on a kick return. He was also the Bulldogs leading receiver last season as a junior when he had 44 catches for a 14.3-yard average and seven touchdowns.

The Broncos have seven other draft picks they hope to sign before rookies report Thursday night for their minicamp.

Left tackle Garret Bolles will get the richest deal as the No. 20 overall pick. Based on the usual increase of close to 10 percent what New York Jets’ linebacker Darron Lee received last year at No. 20, Bolles can expect a four-year deal worth roughly $11.2 million that includes a signing bonus of about $6.2 million.

The Broncos would also have a fifth-year option on Bolles but they don’t have to decide on whether to exercise it until after his third season.
