There is no quarterback controversy with the Denver Broncos.
The talk around the coffee machines this week, though, suggests a quarterback discussion is coming.
“I mean, I’m not listening to it,’’ Broncos’ rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch told 9NEWS in front of his locker Wednesday. “I’m just focusing week-in and week-out on what we have to do inside the building and within our team.’’
Trevor Siemian is the Broncos’ starting quarterback this week against the New Orleans Saints, as he has been for every game he’s been healthy enough to play in this season. Lynch is the backup.
But Siemian also understands that when a team has lost three of its past five, his offense ranks 28th in the league and is backup is a first-round draft pick, questions about his job security will arise.
“Playing quarterback, any position in the NFL, there’s a lot of pressure,’’ Siemian said. “That’s part of the deal and you embrace it. I’m not the only one like that. It’s naive for me to think that way so all I can do is do my job the best that I can and go from there.”
