The Denver Broncos are back to where they began.
Quarterback Paxton Lynch – the third starter of a disappointing season – left the field during the third quarter of Sunday’s matchup against the Oakland Raiders.
This means Trevor Siemian, the quarterback who started the season and was benched in favor of Brock Osweiler, who was also benched and was inactive for Sunday’s game, took the field.
The Broncos were down 21-0 with less than two minutes left in the third quarter.
Lynch injured his right ankle, according to 9NEWS Broncos Insider Mike Klis.
It was Lynch’s third NFL start, and he took four sacks and threw a particularly painful interception.
