Denver Broncos receiver Emmanuel Sanders was reportedly investigated for felony sexual assault but was not charged when not enough evidence was presented for the case to move forward, according to a report from TMZ Sports.
TMZ reports that the allegations first came to light in Harris County, Texas where Sanders owns a home.
The Broncos issued a short statement regarding the incident on Thursday morning.
“We are aware of the media report involving Emmanuel Sanders and are looking into it."
According to a source, Sander spoke to multiple members of the Broncos' organization Thursday and emphatically denied any wrongdoing and indicated he cooperated with the investigation to clear his name.
