Things have been good in Broncos Country since Pat Bowlen took the reins in 1984.
So good, in fact, that the Denver Broncos have officially notched the second-highest winning percentage in all of sports during those 32 awesome years.
Thanks to Sunday’s commanding win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Broncos took the No. 2 spot away from the L.A. Lakers. They now have a 61.7 winning percentage – second only to the San Antonio Spurs, who have a 63.3 win percentage.
The Broncos have had a 317-197-1 record during the Bowlen area.
The Spurs, who have won five NBA championships during that same time period, are 1,631 and 945.
The Lakers are the third winningest team at 61.6 percent. They’re followed by the New England Patriots at 60.5 (that’s right – we’re better than the Patriots!) and the San Francisco 49ers at 60.3.
Enough though they are ranked lower if you only factor in 1984 to now, the Lakers are the winningest franchise of all time, with a 60.4 winning percentage.
The Green Bay Packers are the winningest NFL team of all time, with a 57.6 winning percentage.
