The great April for the Colorado Rockies is now being reflected with some nationwide recognition.
After a month in which the team went 16-10 overall--putting them in first place in the NL West--two players were honored with awards by major league baseball.
22-year old starter Antonio Senzatela has wasted no time turning some heads in his rookie season. The first year- man was named the National League rookie of the month, after going 3-1 with a 2.81 ERA in his first five big league starts.
Likewise, closer Greg Holland looks like he has returned to form as the player that was a two-time All-Star with the Kansas City Royals. The 31-year-old has been perfect this season, converting all eleven of his save opportunities. After a fantastic April, Holland was honored as the NL reliever of the month.
Both guys have been instrumental in Colorado's early success, and will likely need to continue their success all year if the Rockies want to make the playoffs for the first time since 2009.
