Rockies pitcher Jon Gray has a lot of hair. He has hair to spare even, and on Tuesday Gray chopped eight inches of that lettuce atop of his head off in a donation to Locks of Love.

Locks of Love in a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children, age 21 and under, suffering from long-term medial hair loss from any diagnoses.

The 6-foot-4 pitcher had hair down to his shoulders, yes "had". Now instead of witnessing Gray's red locks blowing in the wind pitch-after-pitch this year,  they will be donated to help someone in need.

What started as just growing out his hair two-years ago in Spring Training 2015 has come full circle and ended going to a good cause.
