It's a big week in Colorado sports!
Starting with Opening Day in the MLB, the highly anticipated Rockies season will commence with a match-up against the Milwaukee Brewers on the road Monday. The Rockies announced their 25-man roster for the first game, which includes Colorado native, Kyle Freeland in the lineup.
The Denver Pioneers hockey team is in the Frozen Four and face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at a shot for a national championship Thursday. If the Pioneers advance, they will play the winner of Minnesota-Duluth versus Harvard and it will be their first championship appearance since they won back-to-back titles in 2004 and 2005.
The Colorado Eagles out of Loveland, cap off their regular season with two games against the Rapid City Rush before heading to the post season next week. Prior to their final two games, the Eagles are third in the ECHL in points, yet second in the Mountain division.
The Nuggets are two games behind the Trailblazers and their playoff hopes are looking slim after falling three straight games prior to Sunday's win against the Miami Heat. As for the Avalanche, tune in to watch the 2016 first round pick, Tyson Jost, get warmed up to the league.
The Avalanche are aching to get out of this unsuccessful season; however, the 19-year-old's presence gives fans a glimpse at what the future may hold with last year's first round pick in the lineup.
