An officer is expected to recover after a wreck in Capitol Hill on Tuesday evening.

According to investigators, a driver in a gold car heading south on Grant ran a red light, hitting the officer who was driving east on 14th Ave.

Officers responded to the scene just before 8:30 p.m. The name of the officer involved has not been released. It's unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol are involved.

Both the officer and the other driver were taken to the hospital with minor injures.

This intersection is closed for investigation, and drivers are urged to take an alternate route.
