Your drive through downtown Estes Park is changing.

The town board approved the Downtown Estes Loop Project during a special meeting Tuesday night.

The project focuses on three major roadways - Elkhorn Avenue, Moraine Avenue and Riverside Drive.

The project's main points will be to widen roads and add new intersections.

Riverside Drive will see the most work.

Town officials tell 9NEWS the next move is planning more public meetings to discuss the start of construction and how it will be carried out.

They say it will be several years before construction actually gets underway.

The project will be paid for with state and federal funds.
