A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until Monday morning for the Denver Metro Area, with 2 to 5 inches of snowfall possible. The heaviest snow will stay west and south of the city. Near the Palmer Divide, Douglas and Elbert counties could see up to 7 inches of snow from this system. Northern Colorado will see less than 2 inches of snow.

Strong winds are whipping snow around the High Country, creating treacherous traveling conditions. Areas above 9,000 feet will get 6 to 12 inches of fresh powder.

The Winter Weather Advisory will expire in the mountains noon Monday.

Look for slick, slippery roads early Monday across much of the Front Range and Eastern Plains. Mountain passes will be snow-packed Monday morning too.

This fast and furious spring storm will move out of the state early Monday morning. A few wrap-around snow bands could return to the northern mountains Monday afternoon, with an additional inch of accumulation. Look for a few lingering showers/flurries in Denver for the drive home Monday.

Look for partly sunny skies and a gradual warm-up throughout the rest of the week.
