Spring storm to bring wet, slushy roads to Colorado

Roads will become wet and slushy as a Pacific storm moves across Colorado. Winter weather is expected in the mountains through Friday morning.

Finally! A change-up in the weather pattern!

Scattered rain and snow showers will continue to cross the state overnight into Friday. Expect wet roads in the metro for your Friday morning drive. Snow-packed and slushy conditions will be likely in the mountains as this Pacific storm moves across Colorado.

Some showers could be mixed with snow (especially in the far western suburbs) but little to no accumulation is expected in the metro area. A few thunderstorms are possible with heavy rain at times as well as thunder and lightning.

In the mountains, a Winter Weather Advisory will go in effect at 6 p.m. Thursday and last through 6 p.m. Friday.

Four to ten inches of snow are possible for the Front Range Mountains. Blowing snow and snowy/slushy roads are possible.

Friday’s forecast will be soggy and cool with areas of fog. Temperatures will be in the upper 40s, lower 50s with lingering rain and snow showers across the state. From half an inch to an inch of rain is possible along the Front Range and Plains through Friday evening.

The weekend will start off cool with some early Saturday morning rain/snow showers. Conditions dry out on Sunday with highs in the 70s.
