Warm temps this afternoon, but rain and snow are on the way

High temperatures on Monday will rise into the lower 70s before another storm moves into Colorado Monday afternoon. The system will bring the possibility of scattered showers and thunderstorms to parts of the metro area.

Overnight winds will pick up and rain will change to snow, which could make for a slippery Tuesday morning commute.

Wind gusts Monday night could range from 20 to 25 mph across Colorado's eastern plains.

Parts of the Denver metro area could see up to 1/2" of snow by 6 p.m. Tuesday. The foothills could see 1" to 4" of new snow.
