Dust storms have prompted an I-70 closure in Kansas.

The wind is dying down in Denver, but a few hundred miles east, it’s a different story.

A dust storm warning has been issued for Goodland, Kansas – about 20 miles from the Colorado border. This has prompted the Kansas Department of Transportation to close Interstate 70 from Goodland to Colby, Kansas – a 60-mile long closure.

The National Weather Service says the wind is creating near zero visibility in the area. Gusts are reaching 70 miles per hour.

Drivers have been urged to use extreme caution.
