DENVER - Where can you meet world-renowned snowboarder and Olympian Chris Klug, run a 5K and nosh on some of the best food in town? The 11th Annual First American State Bank Fitness Festival on September 10 has it all.
Organizers have outdone themselves with Olympic medalist Chris Klug and Creigh Kelley, Running USA Hall of Champions, as Grand Marshals emceeing and mingling with participants, a silent auction with top-notch items, the Kaiser Permanente 5K run/walk, followed by the "Best After Party in Town" with top restaurants dolling out succulent treats to participants.
Held at Crescent Park in Greenwood Village to benefit the Community Asset Project (CAP), a partner of the Cherry Creek School District. During the past 10 years, the event has raised and donated more than $650,000 to CAP to encourage positive alternative behaviors for students in the Cherry Creek School District.
